Paediatric communication toolkit

I illustrated a set of 80 flash cards to improve the quality of communication and the experience of children undergoing invasive gastro investigations at Bristol Children's Hospital. Jacqui Porter, the Gastro Investigations Nurse Practitioner for Bristol Children’s Hospital, and Katie Lane, the hospital Play Specialist, approached The Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children's Hospital Charity to help fund their fantastic idea to fix the issue of limited medical, visual communication aids for children. I really enjoyed working with the team to identify the images they would need including objects, procedures, emotions and people patients would encounter on their journey. Cards were colour coded and presented in a box with categorised dividers so staff could easily access relevant images.
